Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights

A challenge in the field of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights is how to integrate it with work on HIV/AIDS. As sexual transmission is the leading mode of HIV transmission, this begs the question of how these two fields interact.

Another challenge is whether the current strong funding efforts into HIV/AIDS can be expected to also strengthen health systems to help reach MDG 5, i.e. maternal mortality reduction. This course will provide students with an overview of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights issues with special emphasis on integration with HIV services and interaction between the two fields.
